If you want to Study English in Cape Town, we would like to welcome you to the Language Teaching Centre, LTC. The General English Course is ideal if you want to improve your everyday communication skills and you prefer to study in a class with other students.

General English courses at ETC each follow a syllabus which is primarily designed to develop the four skills of speaking, writing, reading and listening, and to increase your awareness of how English works. You will also learn and revise new vocabulary, improve your pronunciation and polish your English grammar.

Our ESL program caters to students aiming to fully immerse themselves in language learning during their stay. With a strong emphasis on speaking and communication skills, each day consists of four lessons dedicated to enhancing communication abilities.

The General English course is for all levels. The Avenue English guarantee ensures that if all classes are attended, homework completed on a daily basis and weekly tests submitted the student will improve their English language capabilities in the time that they are with us.

You study 20 lessons every week following BLC’s curriculum of focused language training. A great choice if you want to have free time in the afternoon to enjoy your time in Brighton, see the sights or socialise with your new friends from BLC.

If your goal is to improve your speaking communication skills in the shortest time possible VI’s English Conversation Programme (ECP) would be your best choice. This 24 -Hours per month programme that develops English conversational skills for a variety of everyday situations.

This course features: 10 individual lessons per week Beginner to Advanced levels Course length: any duration 1 lesson: 45 minutes (in the USA and Canada 50 minutes) Hours per week: 7 hours 30 minutes(in the USA and Canada 8 hours 20 minutes) Courses begin: every Monday Ages 16 + Individual tuition is the fastest way to learn a language. Whether you need general or specialised language, each course is entirely tailored to your needs and adapted to your rate of progress.

The Half Day General English course enables you to brush up your English knowledge whilst having the afternoon free for other activities, perhaps to explore Edinburgh’s history, architecture, culture or shops. You learn in small groups and benefit from 15 hours per week.

Our General English courses are designed for motivated, professional students who wish to develop their overall skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening as well as grammar. We believe that in order to improve your language to its best potential, it is important to focus on all of these areas.

Improve and practise your English skills with the best! This is a general English course aimed at learners who want to improve all four skills (listening, speaking, reading & writing). Material is carefully selected to cater not only for the students needs but also for their interests as we are aiming to make this course as enjoyable as possible.

Levels: we have Elementary to Advanced levels from September to June. Each student undergoes a level test on the morning of their first day – writing and speaking components – before joining their class.
