L'Italiano Porticando is located in a beautiful 19th-century building in the Quadrilatero Romano, the historic city centre. Next to the most important piazzas, near both train stations and only two minutes from Piazza Castello, the beating heart of Turin, and the elegant Piazza Solferino.
The school's classrooms are bright and inviting. The rooms have all you need in a modern language school, however, they are not typical classrooms, as the school’s management has created a comfortable and cozy atmosphere making you feel rather at home than at school. The school’s facilities are also a place where students may stay to read, to watch films or to do their homework.
Furthermore, the students have at their complete disposal books, newspapers and magazines, dictionaries, CDs and DVDs which they can borrow or use at school. Of course, there is also the possibility to have free internet access (from a PC for students or Wi-Fi).
The school aims at the student's communication ability. For this reason, Italian is the only language spoken at school from the first day. All teachers are experts in teaching Italian to foreigners and so there isn’t a need for using other languages to bridge language gaps or to communicate with students. This is true for all levels, from beginners to advanced, and for all courses, from standard courses to courses in small groups to private lessons and cultural courses.
Teaching materials – mainly developed by the school – are chosen and created to stimulate free conversation and to simulate real communication situations. Class activities are designed to give the student all the necessary tools to handle daily life situations and social interaction in Italy.
The classes are complemented by free extra-curricular activities organized by the school in the afternoon, allowing students to put into practice what they have learned during their morning lessons and to socialize while staying in Turin.
L'Italiano Porticando is a member of EDUITALIA, one of Italy's most important associations of Italy's schools teaching Italian Language and Culture to foreigners.
The school is also recognized by many German Laender as "Bildungsurlaub" provider.
