The city of Alghero is located on Sardinia, the second largest island in the Mediterranean, an autonomous region of Italy. The area that is currently Alghero has been settled since pre-historic times, and due to its strategic placement on the Mediterranean Sea, this city has changed hands several times leading up to its current incarnation. With cobblestone streets and a medieval town center as evidence of the area’s history, students taking Italian courses in Alghero might be surprised to learn how much this year round resort has to offer. The architecture may be a reflection of ancient times, but the fine dining, shopping and water sports speak to today’s visitors. Students enrolled in Italian school in Alghero can enjoy windsurfing, sailing and swimming as recreational activities. For those who prefer land based activities there are plenty to consider including horseback riding, cycling and tennis. In old town Alghero, the Civic Theater is a popular destination. Built in 1829 the theater has been kept in working order by a variety of restorations. It still plays the host to many cultural events. There are a number of shopping and dining choices available in the old town area as well. Another popular destination is Neptune’s Grotto, a stalactite cave with amazing and interesting views. The heart of Pintadera’s Italian program is the Lingua group language course with a maximum enrolment of 8 students per class. The lessons are normally divided into two parts with a different teacher guiding each segment.
We offer the weekly AllegraMente program, our special late afternoon/early evening course for holidaymakers who want to better know the people and town of Alghero. This course is only offered for 2 PEOPLE wanting to take classes together.
