Guadalajara has become something of a hub for contemporary art, fashion and top-notch food (to go with the tequila and mariachi bands). Cool design hotels have sprung up too.
IMAC offered a wonderful program. The teachers were excellent and the program was well organized. In addition to the classes, IMAC offered optional and free Wednesday morning excursions. I attended two walking excursions during my two weeks to visit a museum with Jose Clemente Orozco murals and to see a local park. The school offered English classes to the locals and Spanish classes to visitors, and locals and visitors were paired to practice our new languages and learn about each other's cultures. I really enjoyed these excursions and the young Guadalajarans I met on these outings. They also offered an optional and free conversation class every day for an hour that was well worth the time spent. The school's location is also ideal since it is less than a ten minute walk from the historic center and its famous Cathedral.

I had an excellent teacher - Lia - who ensured that the lessons were fun and engaging. Lesson plans and learning styles were adapted to suit what I wanted and needed in order to progress. The tailored learning experience meant that I was more engaged and progressed faster.
The school facilities are great and all staff were incredibly helpful during my time there. Additionally, the school is located in a great place in the city, easily connected and close to the city centre.
Had private lessons, instructor was very welcoming and demonstrated dedication to helping me achieve my learning goals. Safe location in city center within walking distance to many attractions. A lot of hotels near by

My teacher was very professional and good and explaining vocabulary and grammar. The school is centrally located in Guadalajara surrounded by museums plazas and restaurants, there is always something near to do. The best part of the trip for me was the family I stayed with they made me feel very welcome in their home and I can't praise them highly enough.

I only took private lessons. 2.5 hours a day for four days. We could not arrive on Monday, when group classes start. My teacher was good, but 2.5 hours one-on-one was mentally draining for me. I would recommend group classes if possible because the pressure to speak only Spanish for so long is less and there is more time to absorb the lessons. We did not participate in activities. We stayed nearby at the excellent Portobello hotel, which is not expensive by US or European standards.
