Residential school on the edge of a magnificent park
Our school is housed in a modern building complex on the edge of a magnificent park. The city center of Bad Schussenried lies within walking distance of approx. 5 minutes. The course center is a residential school, i.e. the classrooms are located within the same building complex as the student dormitories.
Modern school facilities
Providing space where up to 300 students from all over the world can live and study makes Bad Schussenried Germany's largest boarding school for studying German as a foreign language. The school's rooms have a high standard, as does its infrastructure: in addition to pursuing traditional athletic and recreational activities, students can also take advantage of a large indoor swimming pool, indoor tennis facility and a climbing wall.
Intensive German Courses for Children
In each of our centers for children we teach intensive German courses with 25 lessons per week. The lessons are structured and designed for younger students: they are interactive and fun, yet at the same time demanding and very effective
Children have 5 lessons of 45 minutes each morning, starting at 8.30 a.m. and running until 1:00 p.m., including two breaks.
Language Levels
We offer up to 6 different language levels, from total beginners to very advanced, or, according to the European Framework of Reference, levels A1-C1.
Class Size
Our classes consist of 11 students on avergae. Such a small size ensures that individual attention is given to every single course participant. As we focus very much on the communicative approach of the language, while not neglecting grammar, we give heed to make every student talk and participate.
Tests
All course participants take a weekly exam which covers all the course content taught the preceding week, so that students and teachers alike can assess the progress made in the German language.
Homework
Our juniors are also expected to do some homework every day, yet they will still have plenty of time for extracurricular activities.

Idyllic resort in the south of Germany
The historic monastery town Bad Schussenried is nestled in the beautiful, idyllic hill country between Lake Constance and the Danube and Iller rivers. Known as much for its spas and the natural beauty of its surroundings as it is for its cultural monuments, this attractive resort in the heart of the Upper Swabia region is an ideal starting point for a wide variety of excursions.
The classes were not so organized, teachers kept changing so was not so happy about it, location is good, activities could have been better. Housing was good but food options for vegetarian were very limited.

In Bad Schussenried I met a lot of people and I knew a lot of friends. With them I could speak different languages.
The teacher that I've got was absolutely fantastic, she spoke clearly German and the activities that we did were very adapt to our level. The material that she gave to us was clear and beneficial for our German.
The location of the college was great because was near a little lake and also near at the city center (like 5 minutes of walk). Also the housing was pretty cool because every week, the cleaning ladies cleaned our room and also the corridor that bring to our room.

My son was so homesick that we had to return him after a week. He had to share the room with a bigger Russian boy and that was not a good solution.
No one has noticed his discomfort. I (his father) believe that the school is already OK, but better 15 or 16 years or together with a friend. Manuel is only 13.

Dear Tiziana,
Please excuse my late reply.
Yes it is possible for a 13 year old junior to attend the teenager course with 30 lessons/week. Please note that he will be accommodated with other juniors and the same rules like for bed time or going to the village apply. For the period of July 10 - July 23 we are already fully booked. For all other dates we still have places available.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Tobias
The students are divided into different classes (25 lessons per week for the younger students and 30 lessons per weeks for the older students). Also only students from the same age group are housed together. During leisure activities and excursions students from the different age groups can mingle. There is no strict separation. So friends and siblings from different age groups can meet outside classes.
