To learn Italian in the most modern city that country has to offer, consider studying Italian courses in Milan. In this Mecca of fashion, you can learn the language in surroundings that compel you to study hard just so you can join in with all that's going on. A wonderful city to explore, where the attractions aren't always obvious but have to be sought out, Milan is like a never-ending magic box of surprises – there's always something else to find just when you thought you'd seen it all. So when your classes are over, go out and see what's on offer. Go through the various art galleries and museums, and see some of Leonardo da Vinci's technological notebooks and inventions, or book a tour to see his painting The Last Supper. Or spend the evening listening to an opera in one of the most legendary opera houses in the world, La Scala. Or simply join in with the lively nightlife, take in the avant-garde theatre that flourishes here, or spend the night at one of the clubs. Galleries show off some of the most daring works of contemporary art, while those searching for contemporary fashion have come to the right place. Aside from the chance to see the launch of new seasons of clothing, stores often stock at low prices the cast-offs of previous seasons, making Milan a treasure-house for fashionistas. So study in an Italian school in Milano. Just be sure you enjoy football – as in the rest of Italy, it's taken very seriously here.
