"They gave me the level and speed of learning that I requested."

Sue BEVERIDGE, student from Scotland

I had a great month here at JKLC. I was one to one with my teacher learning from the I Love Korean student book and workbook. What I liked about the teaching was we tried to concentrate on listening and speaking skills and not just grammar. It is lovely relaxed friendly place. No pressure to learn at a certain speed, totally tailor- made to the student. They offered 12 free online sessions too. It's a great environment to learn in. Jeju is a delightful island with lots going on, great walking trails and a very good public transport system. No activities going on as such as there was just a few students.

"Life changing"

Armin Gooya

Studying at Jeju Korean Language Center gave me a perspective about life in Korea that I would have otherwise never experienced. When many people think about life in Korea, they often think about the lights and fast lifestyle of Seoul or Busan. These are both great cities, but life on Jeju island is totally different. Nowhere else in Korea have I experienced such beautiful nature and a nice calm relaxed way of life.

At JKLC I would normally go to class (which had a beautiful view of the Hallasan Volcano) and study with my teacher until around lunch time. Teachers here are genuinely interested in seeing you grow and improve. The teaching style is also very entertaining as we had the opportunity to have many discussions in class using the Korean we have been studying. As my class ended around lunch time, I would either grab something near the school or hop on the bus for a short ride to downtown. JKLC has great study space, but I personally would love to go to the cafes by the beach and study there while occasionally looking out into the horizon. There are so many nice ones that you could spend each day at a new cafe. On the weekends the school faculty always provided me with options of fun things to do. I fell in love with the nature and food in Jeju, so for the most part I was hiking on the weekends whether it be in the forests or by the beach, or grabbing some delicious food with a friend.

I would recommend studying at JKLC if you are someone who likes to uncover new perspectives in life. The courses are well taught and organized, but the best part is that, not many people in Jeju speak English as they do in the major cities of Korea. This perfect environment helped to dramatically improve my Korean language capability as my only option was to use it! Schooling aside, if you enjoy living a slowed down and relaxed lifestyle with mother nature at your doorstep, I couldn't recommend this beautiful place enough!
