Start your fashion career today by immersing yourself in the world of fashion with our summer teen fashion camp! During this week-long camp, receive the chance to network with some of the world’s most influential fashion leaders. Learn how the industry’s top insiders began their careers and what they wish they knew when they first started working in the industry. Students will also receive firsthand advice from mentors whose clients have been featured in magazines like Elle and lnStyle and television programs such as Oprah and Good Morning America.
The Cutting Room’s summer teen fashion camp focuses on Design, Draping, Sewing, and Illustration. Throughout the week, students speak with industry experts about the different careers available in the industry as well as explore fashion design, media, marketing, merchandising, and even fashion tech. Additionally, students receive the opportunity to visit the city’s most exclusive showrooms and work on a real-world fashion project!
Students will:
make mood boards
learn how to fashion illustrate using pencil and water color.
take their ideas and turn them into garments from our patterns
learn to drape and sew
make 1-3 items of clothing and/or accessories.

At the end of the week, each student will present the item they made in a fashion show for friends and family.

Students must bring their own lunch; however, price includes a pre-graduation ceremony lunch at Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company (Thursday).

The Cutting Room, owned by apparel and production expert, Liza Deyrmenjian, was born in Vancouver and is the result of 25 years in the fashion and apparel industry. The Cutting Room is where it all happens—ideation and design, pattern making, sourcing, sampling, and production. It is also where beginners and seasoned designers alike come together to better their skills and learn new ones with The Cutting Room’s Fashion Design and Merchandising Academy—The Cut. With one foot in Vancouver and the other in New York City, The Cutting Room supports established fashion and lifestyle brands, coaches up-starts, and teaches the next generation of makers and doers through The Cut’s array of fashion design courses.

Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying English in Vancouver. These homes are often between 25 - 50 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
