Course description

Tudor Hall is nestled in the Oxfordshire countryside and is the perfect mix of old and the new. Founded in 1850, the school opened in its current location in 1946. Tudor Hall has beautiful buildings and grounds as well as first-class modern facilities for sport, crafts and performing arts.

The course is offered for different levels. On arrival, students are tested to make sure they are placed in a group that suits their ability. The minimum level is beginners (A1) and the age range is 11 to 17.

The Summer Explorer course length is 2 weeks in July and August. Dates are:

Block 1 Wednesday 9th July to Tuesday 22nd July
Block 2 Wednesday 23rd July to Tuesday 5th August

Course description
Students learn though their lessons, activities and cultural visits. Please see below the course structure:

Project-based lessons - 30 hours per 2 week course
Lessons focus on a project to suit the level and age range of the class. Students learn something new every time. Examples are the Royal Family, the Environment, and Travel and Tourism.

Educational Activities OR Academy – 18 hours per 2 week course

Educational Activities (no extra cost)
Upon arrival on campus, students choose three electives from a long list of active, academic and creative electives.

Sample Educational Activities offered at Tudor Hall, depending on staff expertise:

Instead of Educational afternoon activities, a student can pre-book an academy. Academy offered at Tudor Hall is Intensive Academic English (£205 extra per 2-week course)
This Academy will enhance students’ academic English skills and maximise their potential for success in their future studies. This challenging Academy will help students develop a range of useful tools and techniques to tackle international exams and improve their general study needs.

Study tours - 3 full-days
They will also enjoy study tours to historic destinations such as Warwick Castle and the British Museum. Every course also includes a full day study tour to London, where students will enjoy a walking tour, river cruise or trip to a top London Museum.

• At least 42 hours of lessons, programmed activities and 3 study tours days

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged £ 35 when you register.
