Course description

Our popular English Explorer programme offers a holistic language experience which is immersive, flexible and lots of fun.

Project-based English lessons - 30 hours per two week course

English lessons include projects which are designed around the school’s weekly theme. Small groups of students work together on their projects focusing on each child’s language knowledge and skills development. Students booked for 2 weeks starting 6 & 20 July and 3 August also have the opportunity to demonstrate their language skills by preparing for and taking the Trinity College London Speaking exam (GESE).

Students are offered a choice of nutritious food at each mealtime; breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every menu includes a selection of hot and cold items including fresh fruit and vegetables. Packed lunches are provided on study tours.

Snacks are available during break times and at each evening house meeting. If your child has a dietary requirement associated to an allergy, please let us know so we can accommodate this.

Accommodation blocks are separate for boys and girls. There are single, twin and dormitory rooms available, including beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers and chairs. Where possible, we mix nationalities in bedrooms, so students are encouraged to practise their English and learn more about another culture.

Access to bathrooms are also separate for boys and girls. There are shared showers and toilet facilities, which are situated at strategic points throughout the accommodation.

Bedrooms and bathrooms are cleaned regularly, with fresh bed linen provided weekly. Students are responsible for making sure their room is tidy and will have regular room inspections. There is a free laundry service for machine washable clothes once a week.

Please note: towels and hair dryers are not provided.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
