I had an amazing experience at Verbum Novum. In three weeks I learned more than during several years in school. The learning material is extremely helpful and versatile, and the teacher provided even more material in form of interactive activities which helped not only our retention of information, but also the cohesion of the group. The teacher made sure to encourage us to train all of our skills through the diversity of the exercises. I liked the way the courses were organized so that we would get as much information as possible, and still have time to process it and wind down for 15 minutes.

Dear Florentina,
thank you very much for your review!!!
Verbum Novum Team wishes you all the best!
I enjoyed almost everything about the experience in my two weeks of private classes (a total of 15 hours of class time). The two teachers were professional, organized, and helpful, as well as being intelligent people who were fun to work with. I would like to study with them again in the future.
I stayed with friends, so have nothing to add about housing or activities. The school's location was perfect - across from the Mainz Hauptbanhof. The facilities were good. My only complaint was noise from the renovation of the apartment next door, but Natalia Alieva and the teachers were marvelous about rearranging the tutoring schedule, so that we could hold our sessions after hours when the workmen had left.
My German vocabulary and the declensions of adjectives were the two aspects I particularly wanted to focus on in the short time I was at Verbum Novum, and both teachers gave me great instruction in those areas, as well as lots of exercises for homework and copies of extra grammar exercises to take home. I felt I made real progress in improving my German and gaining confidence in speaking and writing.
I would be happy to recommend this school to my friends and hope to return again in the future.
I am very thankful for everything. The classes were great, the teachers were perfect and with great professionalism. The location is also very good and so close to the city center. I would really recommend this school.

I never thought that the people would be so friendly to me so I was shocked to be treated in such a friendly way by the teachers and also the staff. The teacher was able to explain to me again and again until I understand everything about the lessons. The school is situated in a good place near the train station so I didn't walk far. My experience with the school was amazing and I would like to join again next year.

I think it is a very terrible experience.
1. I usually received many emails from you, from different person before I went to school. Even I tried to call you, you also answered me that you don't have that person who I was looking for. It's really weird.
2. You said we would have a test and send us to different class but apparently, you didn't do it. You just gathered all different levels together.
Besides, you also gave me a lot of papers about our insurance and said we needed to do blah blah.... after we came, but after we came, you just ignored.
3. If I could agree that a girl would share a room with me for two "weeks" and you would not charge me the extra money which for arriving here two days earlier, and I doubled checked with you " two weeks" and you said yes then I agreed but suddenly, it became " two months"!!!! I would like to say if it is two months, I would definitely not agree with that and I would rather spend the extra money, and then you just sent her here without my permission. What the hell is that????
Dear Ying Ting, thank you for your review. However we are really surprized, what you are writing.
We do not, whom you mean by YOU (the Language International or Verbum Novum School Staff), but we never ignored you and we asked you, if everything is ok, and you said yes.
Moreover we NEVER mix the groups with different levels! Its a pity, that you do not write the truth!
You had a good host family, good students in the group, the teacher was excellent! You had a group for C1 level and all the students were on the same level!
You lived in the single room the most of the time, only a few days you shared the room with one girl, thatswhy you were not charged for extra nights. Moreover you ignored our email, that you have to pay for extra nights, if you come earlier, but you have not answered, you just arrived to the host family....
Our school is open for student´s opinions and you could come to us anytime and inform us, if you had any problems, but you had never done this. We could solve your problem immidiatelly, but we had no chance, because we did not know this. Sorry.
I would recommend this school because of the teachers and teaching method. Apart from that the classrooms are too small as for the rest I'm very happy. I chose to continue with another 4-week course.
I have much improved with the German. I noticed at work that in a class of persons with the same level I was fine.
I recommend this school even to people like me who have no command of English ... but only A2. The knowledgeable teacher was always helpful and kind.
thank you Francesca! It was nice to have you as our Student!
I booked to take lessons 5 days a week. However, my lessons per week were only for 3 days, by the convenience of the school. I could not take 25 days of school in total. I said this to the school manager, but nothing changed. The school's facility is too bad. I heard that I could use the Wi-Fi and PC at the school, and I also heard that I need not to buy the text. However, I couldn't use the Wi-Fi and PC, and I should buy the text.
A good point of the school though was that they provided our drinks.
Dear Yoshika, thank you for your review. However you did not write the reason: the manager explained you actually, that you have only 3 days per week, because there are only 3-4 students in the group, accordingly to the rules of the school the number of lessons should be reduced if there is less than 5 students in the group. I think you have not understood this, when the teacher and the manager explained you this. If you have any questions, you can come to any staff and ask. We will be glad to help you.
Overall, it was perfect. The two teachers complemented each other very well. There was always so much to learn. Though the pace of the class was fast, the teacher always would answer any question that a student had.
