Tenidiomas is a language school which provides Spanish Language tuition from Basic to Advanced level. Our teaching staff are all qualified and experienced language teachers specializing in teaching Spanish to foreigners (ELE). Students are divided into small teaching groups which follow a communicative teaching method based upon practical speaking and listening skills.
We also organize cultural activities and visits both in and around Jerez de la Frontera in order to increase our students' understanding of the historical and artistic importance of the town.
Located in the historic centre of the town the school is within easy reach of the town's monuments and places of cultural interest, as well as the local shops, bars and restaurants.
Methodology
We offer a wide range of Spanish Language courses designed to meet the needs of all types of student from Beginner to Advanced.
Our teachers use a totally communicative and practical teaching method based upon the spoken word. Our staff has specifically designed the additional material used on the course alongside the textbook and all our classrooms are equipped with electronic smart boards so that our students may easily access the digital material used in class.
From the very first day, only Spanish is spoken in the classroom and there is a close relationship between teacher and students, with personal tutorials to clarify teaching points or answer queries when necessary.
Teaching Staff
Our teaching staff are all specifically qualified in the teaching of Spanish for Foreigners (ELE) and have extensive experience teaching different nationalities at all levels and preparing students for the DELE exams.
The nationality and age mix at Tenidiomas varies over different time periods, courses and levels. Throughout the year, the average age is 25. In the summer, the average age is 20.
TEN teaches students from all over the world, including:
TEN does not hold classes on the holiday dates below. The school does not compensate for these holidays, so make sure to choose your start date accordingly.
Jerez de la Frontera is the perfect place in which to practice and rapidly improve your Spanish thanks to the open, friendly character of the local Jerezano people.
A medium-sized city with just over 200,000 inhabitants, yet far removed from the tourism of the crowded coastal resorts and the larger provincial capitals; a place which has all the amenities of a city (theatre, shopping areas and international airport) but managing to preserve its traditions and a way of life which is still 100% Spanish and above all Andalusian, a picturesque old city centre steeped in history, from the remains of the 11th century Moorish castle to the 17th century mansion houses of the local nobility.
Climate
Strategically located between the white sand beaches of the Atlantic coast and the picturesque mountain villages of the Sierra, you are never at a loss for things to do in this part of the world. The local climate, unique in Europe and even within Spain itself, boasts an average of 290 days of sun per year and has average winter temperatures of 10º C, meaning that local life takes place outdoors in the street cafés and palm-fringed, cobblestoned squares of the city centre.
Culture
Here in Jerez you are given the opportunity to put into practice what you learn in the classroom - be it browsing the picturesque local fish market, or on a visit to one of the local sherry companies to learn first-hand the secrets of the famous sherry wines and brandy of Jerez, at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art where you can watch the horsemen putting the famous Cartujano horses through their paces, and in the small flamenco peñas where amateurs and friends get together to discuss, sing and dance flamenco.
I found the staff to be helpful and accommodating in terminating my session, and acceding to my request for a credit. Having said that, I suddenly have a question I did not have before this morning. I actually want and have the intention of returning to Jerez. But I think the credit was perhaps for 1 year? I can't remember. Do you not have a record of my credit? And, so for the question... suppose I can't make it within the one year, do I then lose the money I spent? And maybe a second question, would I be able to use that credit at another of your Spanish schools? Thanks.

I like the classes, special the teachers, the location.
When I visit Jerez next year I will surely take a course.
The class was very small, varying from 3 to 6 students. Half of the time I benefited from the one-on-one teaching meathod which was super as the teacher could attend to my personal linguistic needs. The school itself is in the old part of Jerez in an old building, but the classrooms were very modern and quite fashionable with up-to-date teaching facilities. My teacher was young, competent, likable and very dedicated to the job. I did not book housing. There were not any social activities available. All in all it was a very positive experience.

Show details » Read more...I was totally satisfied with my personal experience at Tenidiomas. There were never any problems that occurred, teachers are the best you can wish for, classes were always fun. Also the facilities and the location were pretty amazing and central. Tenidiomas always offered special activities, some for free and some for very affordable prices. I really enjoyed my time with this language school; they made my time in Spain special and from speaking 0 Spanish they got me to a very good and advanced Spanish level. I literally couldn't speak a word when I got there and came back with a wide range of vocab, grammar and speaking experience. I'm now the best in my Spanish group at university.
And the best part of it, it never felt like hard work or studying because it was always fun!
Me and my daughter received personal Spanish lessons during a month in summer 2013. Jerez is a lovely city, with Tenidiomas placed right in the heart of it, so each time we went to the school, we had a mini city tour. The only (apparent) problem is parking, so we just went on foot. There may be just queues of parents picking up or dropping off their children.
The school looks very small from the street, but it's really spacious in fact. The rooms are pretty nice, there are also places to self-study or take a rest, vending machines, etc. The equipment is pretty good for learning. Teachers are nice and helpful and very resourceful. They won't say a word in English though they can, so you totally immerse into the language environment.
And activities were also great. Carlota tried to organize much more than we could attend, but it was always fun. It was nice to meet other students from different countries learning Spanish and share our experiences. Carlota selected activities that we haven't tried so far, although all her students have been living for a while in Jerez and have already seen the main things in the city and around. She always provided helpful hints on where to go and what to visit and was ready to talk for a long time about Jerez, Andalucia, Spain, its culture, lifestyle, education and any other topics you may be interested in.
I cannot say anything about housing because I rented an apartment myself before enrolling in the school.
I totally love that month and wish I could come there again.
Apparently my level of Spanish has dramatically improved, and I could use the language while travelling throughout Andalucia.
