Instituto Mediterráneo Sol
This course is planned for teenagers between 13 and 17 years old (both inclusive). You can choose among 2, 3 or 4 weeks and there are special starting dates.
Minors will be accompanied from the moment of their arrival at the airport. As the TRANSFER (from Granada Airport)* is included in the course, a person will pick participants up at the airport and will bring them directly to their accommodation. This person is a professional taxi driver, who has been working with Inmsol since 1993. The day of the departure, this person will go to the accommodation and bring them to the airport.
The ACCOMMODATION for this course is HOME-STAY, full board which includes three meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner), double room.
The arrival is on the Sunday before the start of the course (from 16.00 hrs.), and the departure, on the Saturday, just after the end of it (before 12.00 hrs.). Any arrival before or departure after that must be made clear to the school and the extra nights paid.
The host families are of total confidence and with experience. Participants' parents will receive in advance the address and the type of "family" where their children will live in. The Spanish family will have also all the information about the participants who are going to live with them before their arrival: nutritional habits, possible allergies, 24 hour telephone number for emergencies, ... "curfew" for night outings,...
The deal with the participants is very familiar making them be part of the Spanish customs. The possibility of immersion is excellent for the learning of the language.
The Spanish families are in contact with the monitor and the school for any subject or information.
Host families will go with participants to the school on the first day of class.
During their stay there will be a MONITOR in charge of:
• Being the point of reference for all students. Therefore there will be an initial meeting the first day of the course to know each other (monitor / students and student / student) and to explain how the programme works.
• Over-seeing class attendance, making sure that the students are benefiting from the classes and behaving appropriately in them.
• Controlling the attendance to all activities. Students will be expected to attend all those especially programmed for them.
• Being available to the spanish family call if the student doesn't respect the "curfew" for night outings.
• Every going out, course or activity not organized by the school must be authorized by the parents and communicated to the school.
• Being available on the 24-hour mobile phone number for emergencies.
Before the course starts, participants will undergo a LANGUAGE TEST in order to join the most suitable group.according to their Spanish level.
Each participant will have a STUDENT CARD, to obtain discounts in various shops (book shops, photo shops, fitness centres etc.)
The method of the INTENSIVE SPANISH COURSE OF 4 classes / day is totally adapted for them. The small groups create a friendly environment between participant and teacher, making more natural and inductive the learning of Spanish.
To enhance the learning experience there is a DAILY PROGRAMME OF CULTURAL AND LEISURE ACTIVITIES, organized by the school and carried out by the monitor and long experienced teachers. These activities take place in the afternoon and are of obligatory attendance for the minors. Some of them are:
Cultural Walks: Historical centre, areas of interest etc.
Social Activities: Music, History, Literature, young people reality, cinema, tapas tour, aquatic park...
Tutorials: 1 / week (45´). Once a week, we offer extra grammar lessons, in which students have the possibility to go through the most difficult points of the Spanish grammar.
• An EXCURSION* per week to Andalusian towns and cities of interest such as La Alpujarra, Tropical Coast, Sevilla and Cordoba.
• At the end of the course each participant will receive an IMSOL Attendance Certificate.
• Participants can use extra services of our school: free access to Internet, library, loan service of boos, DVD ad videos.
• Any course, excursion or activity that does not concern with the school has to be authorized by the parents and communicated to the school.
• It is necessary for students to bring their medical insurance (european card or private insurance). If required, our school can provide a medical insurance for the duration of the stay.
• There are Behaviour Rules for minors, that the school will provide both parents and participants before arrival and that will have to be accepted in order to enrol on our courses. If, once in the school, participants will not comply with them, their parents will be informed and IMSOL will take all the necessary steps according to the seriousness of behaviour.
* The organization of transfers (both pick up service and excursions) are carried out by our school in collaboration with professionals with all the insurances and legal licences required for this kind of activities.
We ask for a 60 euros (or in the currency of the student's country) deposit to use books as a loan. Moreover we sell books at school for a low price.

Instituto Mediterráneo Sol was established in 1993 in the beautiful city of the Alhambra, which is considered one of the Wonders of the World. The geographic location of Granada is privileged, because it is only 30 minutes far from the natural park of Sierra Nevada and its winter ski resort, and only 45 minutes by car far from the Costa Tropical.
Our Spanish school is in the very city centre, in the unique quarter of El Realejo, less than 5 minutes walking from Puerta Real, the Cathedral, Gran Via de Colón, theatres, hotels, restaurants, shops, etc. To sum up, you will be able to learn Spanish in one of the most historic quarters of Granada and at a stone's throw from the heart of the city, surrounded by all the facilities and comforts.
Instituto Mediterráneo Sol (Accredited Teaching Centre by Instituto Cervantes) has five classrooms fully-equipped for the study of Spanish with TV, video, DVD and all the necessary audio and CD equipment. All these devices plus the small group size (maximum 8 students per class) create a very familiar atmosphere and a personal treatment, which makes the learning of Spanish more natural and effective.
The teaching is carried out only in Spanish and without using any other language, developing a direct, situational and communicative method and looking for mental associations between the concept and the word in Spanish.
Vocabulary and grammar are studied in a contextual way, placing particular emphasis on the students' participation both in the oral and in the written production. Teachers use exercises on the different grammatical structures, dictations, readings paying special attention to the phonetics and pronunciation, etc. creating controlled and free conversation, always with the teacher's corrections. Every programme has been worked out following the directives of the European Common Reference Framework for Languages (Council of Europe) and the Curricula Plan of the Cervantes Institute.
Before starting the Spanish lessons participants will undergo the Instituto Mediterráneo Sol "placement or language test". As the classes are structured in blocks depending on the number of lessons of the course, one more grammatical and others more of oral production, there could be the possibility of differentiating the levels between both parts. Therefore participants could join two different groups depending on their levels of Spanish grammar and Spanish conversation and vocabulary.
Every week, groups (levels) will be "open" until Tuesday. There is the possibility of changing group if both the teacher and the head of Studies consider it necessary and/or convenient.
iNMSOL has partnerships with the following universities and colleges in Spain. You can gain full or conditional acceptance into one of these institutions.
The nationality and age mix at Instituto Mediterráneo Sol varies over different time periods, courses and levels. Throughout the year, the average age is 15. In the summer, the average age is 15.
iNMSOL teaches students from all over the world, including:
iNMSOL does not hold classes on the holiday dates below. The school does not compensate for these holidays, so make sure to choose your start date accordingly.

My spanish teacher).
The group was only 6 people. We could talk freely and the teacher was available to answer the little things
We had understood each other.
The courses are a mixture of conjugation and vocabulary and also of oral expression about our life or current affairs.
My boyfriend, who is a Spaniard, saw a difference in my level after the week of courses.
¡Hola Florine!
The experience was really wonderful. The staff was welcoming and the teaching was excellent. I've been privileged to learn in some of the best academic institutions in the US, and I can tell you that the methods that were used by Antonio (our professor) were as good or better than anything I've experienced before. It was an extremely positive experience and one I look forward to doing again. Moreover, my daughters enjoyed it and learned from it. If you want to advance your Spanish in a wonderful city, go to Granada and study with the Instituto Mediterraneo Sol!
The location is very central in Granada, right in the city center, so you are surrounded by history and the beautiful mountains. Just perfect!
Dear Matt, thank you so much for your words! You just made our day! It was wonderful to meet you and your daughters. You could see that you all were willing to learn Spanish and getting the most of this experience. I wanted to say thank you in the name of the staff and teachers. We really hope to see you in the future again! All the best.
Everything is excellent. The best school in Spain. The teacher is very active and helpfully.

We had only two students in the class, so it was almost like having private education. Our teacher was very nice and understanding. He was very warm and always asked if we had any difficulties with the language. For him it was very important that we understood everything in the class. He’s the best teacher I have ever had.
The school is in the middle of town, in the center, so everything is near. Also, the family lived near the school; their house was only two minutes from the school. The landlady was nice and friendly too. My room was very comfortable and big.
I have a friend in Granada, and this was my second visit there, so I did not participate in much of the activities of the school.
Thanks a lot for your lovely words, Tarja!! You've been an excellent student, and we hope to meet you again soon! Best regards from your teacher and the rest of the team, and happy New Year!
I had a fantastic time at Imsol and my Spanish improved beyond what I had hoped for for the short time that I spent there. Thanks to a fantastic teacher Mara and the helping hand of all the staff at the office. Everyone there seems to have the same goal and to improve the students and be a part of the whole team. It really shines through.
Sincerely
Hlynur Jónasson
It was very interesting for me to have grammar and culture classes. Also, what I liked more about this experience was the creativity and professionalism of teachers. Moreover, it was a good opportunity for me to meet teachers from all over Europe. I learned and discovered more about Spanish culture and Andalousian Culture. Teachers are very professional and the team is very helpful and pleasant. I recommend this school and I hope I will have the opportunity to come back to Granada.
