"This school is in a beautiful location in Querétaro"

Philip Krynicki, student from USA

I enjoyed this school and experience very much, but the main teacher assigned to me did not speak English and it was very difficult to ask her any questions as they came up. The school is in a beautiful location and it was a peaceful environment.

"It was worth every penny!"

Richard Bonfond, student from USA

I arrived during a low attendance period, which turned out to be beneficial as I was getting one-on-one attention from the teachers in both the grammar and conversational classes.
Everyone I interacted with at Olé was friendly and professional which I felt improved the level of my Spanish. The Spanish-only interaction with the teachers was exactly what I needed, as it made me think in Spanish and not revert back to English.
As mentioned in the original description, on the first day, I was shown around Querétaro to get familiar with the central region of this beautiful city.
My homestay was excellent, Mónica couldn't have been kinder and went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and taken care of. I was included in her family gatherings and she also showed me around the area.

"My expectations were so far exceeded that I don't even remember what they were."

Sara Myers Wade, student from USA

I liked everything: class, teachers, staff, home stay friends Jeanie and Pablo.
I especially enjoyed the teachers who were genuinely interested in providing a personalized learning experience. All teachers spoke exclusively in Spanish; at the same time, we seems to communicate quite well - a testimony to the teachers expertise.

The staff was extraordinarily accommodating and helpful: every question cheerfully answered and requests were accommodated. That I was there during Dia de los Muertos was an absolute plus - OLE hosted a very nice party with activities that helped students understand the meaning of the holiday.

The classrooms and public spaces were always very clean and the coffee was always fresh - Thank you Rosie!

The homestay with Jeanie and Pablo made the difference between a fine experience and an unforgettable experience. They we consistently welcoming, accommodating, helpful, interesting, inclusive ...... could go on and on. I hope that the three of us are friends for a long time.

One of the best ways to learn Spanish is to combine formal studies with living with a Mexican family. A homestay provides the student with the opportunity not only to experience first-hand Mexican daily life, but also to learn new vocabulary and expressions, and to practice speaking and listening skills outside the classroom. It is an enriching cultural experience that is long remembered.

Families have been carefully selected to provide security and a comfortable atmosphere for OLÉ students. The families that work with OLÉ offer family involvement and they enjoy it!

The minimum stay is one week, and students can pay for additional nights.

• In México we usually have breakfast between 7:00-9:00 a.m., lunch (main meal) between 2:00-4:00 p.m. and supper between 8:00-10:00 p.m.

• Includes towels and sheets, which will be changed weekly.

• Students can either buy their own soap and wash their clothes in their homes or use a laundry service. (additional price).

• Families may also invite the student to some family activities such as eating out, or trips, etc. If the student decides to accept these invitations, he/she will cover his/her own expenses.

• Homes are no more than 15 minutes away from the school, either walking or by public bus.
• On the first day of class, a member of the family will take the student to OLÉ and will pick him/her up, so that the student learns the way to school and back.

• The Student will have access to all the common areas in the house (patios, garden, kitchen, TV. room, living room, etc.).

• Students may not make free use of the family telephone. You may receive phone calls at normal and decent hours, but you can not make any long distance calls. If you wish to use the phone for a local phone call please advise your homestay mother first (every phone call costs money to your host family money) . You can purchase a long distance phone card at the school or at any convenience store in order to make your calls
