"Cosy small school"

Masami Kitageerlings, student from Netherlands

The school is small and cosy, but there was street renovation going on the front and I couldn't say it was the best environment to learn. Teachers were kind and helpful. But I was put in a class way higher than my level, only on the base of a web test. I struggled and I've learnt a lot, but I still miss basic grammar to properly speak in Spanish.
The school didn't organize any activity, but reception staff was helpful to find me a group of language exchange.
My housing wasn't optimal either. It was a 20 minutes up the hill from the school. It was a nice big house equipped with good facilities, but my room was the only room downstairs surrounded by three walls of kitchen, living room and dining room, and underneath two bathrooms. I could hear every noise other students made.
And when I checked with a staff in advance whether they provide towels and I was told yes, however there was no towels for the first night. At the school I asked the reception staff and she kindly found me two towels.
Moreover I understood already that Friday was a national holiday when booking. So I got 80% of what I paid for the intensive Spanish course. Honestly speaking I think that we should get money back on that day.

"It’s was an amazing experience, and I definitely recommend!"

Keela McKinney, student from UK

I went to Malaga plus for 4 weeks and did the normal course everyday. It was very helpful for my oral skills and having a small group definitely helped me learn a lot more that I would’ve in a normal classroom. The teacher was extremely helpful and had a great understanding of what method of teaching worked best. It was also a great opportunity to meet people from all over Europe and learn about different languages!

"The teachers are very good, the classes are varied and the people are very open!"

Carina Meier, student from Germany

I had only booked an intensive course for one week, without accommodation.

Before I arrived, I was supposed to do a language course, which then classified me at level B1. Unfortunately, on the first day I was sent to a course with the level A1. Accordingly, I was quite underchallenged. On the second day I changed the course (also on the teacher's recommendation) and got into an A2 course. There, too, I was somewhat underchallenged, so I asked for a new course again. On Wednesday I finally got into a B1+ course, which challenged me well and where I finally learned something new. The last three days were really good and the lessons much better. I found it quite a pity that it took so long, but that can't be changed. That is also the only reason why I can only give the language school 4 stars.

In general, all the teachers I had were very nice and some of them spoke good English and a little German. Communication there was generally preferred in Spanish, but it was well understandable for all.

The building is just outside of Malaga and very quiet because it is on a side street that is not frequented by cars. Every classroom has a good fan or air conditioning, which is really important in the region. The only criticism here is that the classrooms are very, very cramped.

Some classes work with a book that is lent by the teacher, but the emphasis is on speaking, especially in the lower levels. At the end of the day, there is usually a game played to consolidate the knowledge of the day. This was also always good and appropriate.

"It was a great experience because of the friendly staff and students, the excellent teaching, the welcoming local host accommodation and the wonderful culture and climate of Malaga."

Cheryl Marshall, student from UK

The classes were small and allowed lots of participation. I was initially put in a class which was a little slow for my level but I was moved to a more advanced class later in the week. The professors were very good. They spoke in Spanish all the time and explained clearly so that I could understand. I really enjoyed Professor Angeles. She made the classes very interesting and amusing. I especially enjoyed my afternoon classes with her and one other student - lots of opportunity to speak Spanish!
The Location of the school is very convenient. The house is beautiful with white walls and sunshine, the garden is pretty with shade and smell of jasmine.
The coffee machine is ok but it would be nice to have a few more healthy snacks available to eat.
The apartment where I stayed was very conveniently located for the school and the bus route. The host was welcoming and spoke to me in Spanish. Her house was extremely clean. My room and bed were comfortable. The shower worked well. The meals were excellent. i enjoyed the local fish and meat dishes which she cooked. There was always fruit to eat as well. The host was happy to let me come and go as I pleased. I ate my meal at 2.30pm after school which suited me so I could go into Malaga or to the beach.
At the school Jose was so friendly and good at organising activities and I enjoyed the evening we went to the flamenco with him. He looked after everyone very well.
I would really like to come back to Malaga and this language school

"I improved my level a lot"

Rasmya Hadji Salim, student from France

The school was very great, professional and very welcoming. They gave a lot of information and they were very helpful. The school is close to the beach and in a place where there are many restaurants, shops, a bank, and bus. The teachers were very professional, friendly and they cared a lot about the students. The courses were very interesting also, and I had the chance to level up during my time there. The different activities were very great and allowed me to discover the city, as well as other cities.
