THE CITY
Salamanca is the quintessential University City, one of the safest cities in Europe, and home to a great cultural offer throughout the year, mostly for free. The Plaza Mayor is the heart of the city and there, you will find people day and night “under the clock” (meeting point for all people and students). You can enjoy an artisan ice cream at the “Novelty” cafeteria, or a chocolate with churros at the “Valor” chocolaterie, while having an interesting chat with other students.
If you like History, we recommend strolling through the city’s main street, or Rua Mayor, where you will find typical local souvenirs, such as the Charro Buttons, University t-shirts, and “frogs”. It is also the only street in the city where all stores open every day of the week.
The teacher, Amparo was really excellent. After the first day she chose subjects that she knew i was interested in and prepared well for the class, which was always lively and varied. This was a one to one class for 3 hours per day with only a 15 minute break, and with the need to wear a mask. Amparo came through with great success.
The location is perfect, near to the centre of the old town. Facilities good, activities interesting.
I arranged my own accommodation.
Classes were enjoyable, teachers were very nice and willing to help anyone with just about anything and didn't shy away from making a class too funny or enjoyable
