IELTS Academic Test
The IELTS Academic test is for people applying for higher education or professional registration in an English speaking environment. It reflects some of the features of academic language and assesses whether you are ready to begin studying or training. It is accepted by many universities and registration bodies in New Zealand and overseas.
IELTS General Training Test
The IELTS General Training test is for those who are going to English speaking countries for secondary education, work experience or training programs. It is also a requirement for migration to Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK. The test focuses on English survival skills in broad social and workplace contexts.

The campus is in a spacious building catering for 150 students in 14 fully equipped classrooms. The large student lounge has kitchen facilities so students can make hot drinks and prepare meals. Drinks such as tea and coffee are free. Students have free access to the Internet, self-study computers, the campus library and a pool table.
The airport is 6km from the school.
Local buses are free for international students.

ETC does not hold classes on the holiday dates below. The school does not compensate for these holidays, so make sure to choose your start date accordingly.
The ETC campus is in the centre of the city, overlooking a city park, very near the Public Library. Shops, cafes and restaurants from different cultures, as well as the world’s popular fast food outlets, are within the city centre. UCOL is close by and Massey University is 5 km away.
Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying English in Palmerston North. These homes are often between 25 - 50 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged NZ$ 50 when you register.
