Bedroom very comfortable. Three meals a day were excellent and Yoko. Sam spent a lot of time preparing the food. I was able to direct my Tuition specifically to my own needs, which were about travelling around Japan, using public transport, booking, hotels, and typical travellers conversations. Yoko spoke pretty good English as she had left in the USA for several years and her husband, an engineer, spoke excellent English.
My hosts were would have taken me to more social activities, but I was happy to just go for a walk on my own most afternoons. We spent one day going to do blow darts (Fukuya) and we also had a long session walking around the supermarket, looking at all labels and talking about purchasing Japanese groceries.
The experience was excellent, and I would consider doing it again.
The teacher was very nice but unorganized. With the amount of many that I was paying I expected someone more responsible, some kind of books or guidance that I could still use after the course.
The house was normal, it got my own room, freedom of time and shower.
It was very nice to share time with my teacher, eat with her and have conversations about life.
I am happy with her. I am not happy with the company charging me so much money for so little.
The location was okay, small city close to Tokyo center via train, very peaceful area.
We went a few times together for some sightseeing.
She works in another place so she was out for two whole days and then we had to rush with the lessons.
I expected much more from all the money that I paid, the company should give at least a few exercises so students can practice hiragana and katakana.
