Englishour is located right in the heart of Dublin city centre. Our two three storey city centre buildings are located just beside O'Connell Street, Dublin's main thoroughfare. Englishour is easily accessible by many bus routes as well as trains and the Luas.
Englishour is accredited by Marketing English in Ireland (MEI) and ACELS.
Englishoru has a strong mission statement and academic record. It is a small friendly school where the the focus is always on the student.
I was in Dublin only for one week and I joined the course with the objective of improving my listening.
I joined an ongoing group, so in the first class I was a bit lost with the activities, and I also think we focused too much in grammar.
In summary, I think it is a good course for medium/long term (if you are living in Dublin), but for my purpose that was just to leverage my skills in almost 20 hours of classes, it did not meet my expectations.
Hi Cassius, Thank you very much for your feedback which we always appreciate. We hope you are keeping well.
At the beginning of my stay, my English level was found out through a grammar test and a conversation. After that I was divided into a class according to my level. The building is located directly in the city centre of Dublin, which can be easily reached by public transport. In the common room there is free Wi-Fi for the students. You can always ask questions with the teacher and the reception.
The lessons were good and they aren't boring. Due to the small group I could learn well and also get to know the other classmates. We also do some activities in the group together.
I was accommodated in a host family with half board. It took me about an hour by public transport to reach the school. Through the host family, I was able to get to know typical Irish dishes, I can improve my English even after school and I always had someone to ask questions.
Nice teachers nice classmates in the city center
Different cultures and differents nationalities but all of them nice to each other
I liked the way teachers teach and the fact there are different teachers.
One thing I didn't like that much was they don't have lift and only two rooms in each floor.
In conclusion I did my one week trip with them nicely
The experience was perfect, the school, location, teachers and especially the host family! I will come back as soon as possible.
Show details » Read more...The school was really pleasant! The teachers were wonderful. They really take care of you, and you are integrated in the school the day you arrive because the pupils, the location, the activities and so on are just perfect! I was a bit homesick during my trip but the school was really a place where I felt just like home! Just amazing! I would tell to anyone to come here! Really :)
Concerning my host family, it wasn't far from the school so it was good and my host family were really friendly, they were comprehensive and really kind! I'd recommend also this host family (Tina and Gerry).
The location was ideal. It was in the downtown area and was nearby transportation.
The teachers were well-prepared and friendly. The classes were not boring, and I enjoyed them very much.
The school facilities were not fantastic and were small, but comfortable enough for classes. The dining room was small but enough to share and chat with other students.
I was treated very well in the family house, which was well-located and had a friendly family.
The classes had an ideal number of students, and all the teachers encouraged the students to speak. They trained our listening of different English accents (foreign and native). In all our classes, we had to speak with our teacher or our partner. We also needed to speak with our teacher or our partner in the class. We trained our listening and reading all the time. Now, English became very easy to learn.
My course was in the morning, and we had two teachers: one hour and a half with each teacher. This was very important to train our listening.
The school was in a good location and it was very easy for everyone to reach school because it was on the city’s center and was very close to many bus stops and Luas stops. It was perfect. There were also a lot of places to have lunch in which were also very cheap. (Gala is the best place to have a cheaper lunch.)
The teachers didn't give much homework because we stayed there all the time and immersed ourselves in the Irish culture, but if you really wanted to do homework, you could just ask the teachers and they would give you many.
My host family was very nice, and very friendly. The house was very good, and the food of my host family was nice, but it was way far from the city’s center, because we had a lot of traffic. In the website, the school said that the house was just 15 – 25 minutes away, but this was a lie. It took 50 minutes or one hour by bus. This was very terrible, because if you went to any pub, you had to come back earlier to take the last bus (at 23:30) or take a taxi (this option was very expensive). Another bad situation with my host family was all the weekends (Sunday and Saturday). I couldn’t stay in the house if the family had plans to go out. If the family went out, you had to go out too. If I just stayed for 6 weeks, this was fine because I would be at any place during the weekends, but if you are planning to go to Dublin and to stay there for a long time, it is important to check this with the family.
However, the family was very nice and friendly (but this was lesser in the weekend, when you had to go out of the house, even if you had plans to stay home, you will have to leave!). This situation was very impolite and I really didn't like this.
I just did not change my family because they were very cool and helped me a lot in my apprenticeship, and although I had not bought lunch, so on weekends they gave me lunch (perhaps as a reward for having to leave the house every weekend.)
Again though, this is a very serious and delicate thing, since I paid to stay at home as long as I wanted to, not as long as the family wanted.
Well, I really enjoyed my time in Dublin because I optimized my time very well. I lived far away from the centre. Going to the Pub (if you're old enough) was very important in training English and is perhaps the most important part of learning the language with the natives, but the last bus was at 23:30 and we didn’t have other options, just taxi (which was very expensive).
The school is fantastic and ALL the teachers are brilliant!
I really learning English with Englishour and, if I come back to learn more English, I will go back to this school.
Another very important thing is the people in the school. I really made many friends for life. Having people around the world, from many cultures and of many nationalities was amazing, and all of them just spoke in English, which was fantastic!
It was a very good experience. The school has good structure of classrooms and it is very well located. The teachers are excellent and very nice. I recommend a visit to Ireland, and to study in Englishour school. I will come back! :)

As I was living directly at the bay, I heard the seabirds every morning and had a breathtaking view. Thank you very much!
Last summer, I was planning to improve my English in a foreign country. However, all academies were too expensive.. then I found Englishour. This school is full of good energy, and the teachers are awesome. Actually, I had a lot of fun learning English. Furthermore, there were people of all ages (from 16 to 35) and I made very good friends from so many countries. The academy is at the very center. I have to say that I just loved all the time I spent at Englishour, and there is no doubt that I would repeat this fantastic experience.
Show details » Read more...My school was in a good place, because it was in the center of Dublin. The teacher was very friendly and knowledgeable. My house was quite far from the city (30 minutes by bus). My host family was very friendly, but in my opinion was a little stingy, because they had some strange rules. It didn't matter though because I felt excellent in Dublin. I made some friends in the school, and I went with them on some trips.
This experience was very good for me.
The course was ok, just one teacher that did it was a little boring.
My family was fantastic. The only rule that I didn't like was not being able to have a shower in the mornings.
The location is wonderful and the facilities, too.
I didn't do any activities because most of them are at the weekends. It was possible to organize during the week.
The school is too cozy, a little small and it hasn't got digital blackboard.
My experience in Englishour was beautiful. At first the school was very close to the train station and easy to reach. The lessons started at 10 a.m. and it was perfect for me because I lived a little bit far from the school and I spent more than an hour on the train. The people who work in the school were very kind and especially friendly with old and new students like me. So thanks to the teachers the lessons were always funny and never boring. I think the kitchen was very useful not only to eat but also to meet other people and improve your English during the break! In fact in these moments you can also talk with people that know English better than you and you can always learn something easier. Lastly, I loved meeting new people from all over the world! I spent a lot of time with them and I understand that speaking and communicating with people that live far from you and have different culture is amazing!

It has flexible schedules, and they give you everything. They gave me every facility they could.
They are really nice people and I would recommend them to anyone. It was a pity that I had to leave Dubln so soon!
I studied for 2 weeks at Englishour. Teachers were very friendly and professional. I enjoyed my trip in Dublin. The school is in the city center, so there are many buses going to this place. You can also take the DART.
We were divided in class by language level to improve our English skills. There were only two other French students so I had to speak English to talk to the others.
I've also booked two excursions with Englishour during the weekend. It's really convenient to discover Ireland and it's a good value.
For housing I chose to stay with a host family, who were lovely.
In a word, I recommend this experience!
I liked the academy because I have learned many things and I have met some very interesting people. Teachers are good, but John is the one that I liked. His teaching style is fun and maintains the students' attention throughout the class. We have done different types of activities, this has helped to keep the interest of students. The break in the middle of the classes is necessary and a good idea.

The academy is in the city centre and we had free coffee! They gave us free beer too sometimes.
I really enjoyed with Englishour and I recommend this place. They are experienced to teach English. Fantastic!
I have positive feedback, because I really like learning English at Englishour.
The teachers are so keen , helpful and friendly, they are very good at explanations. We learned a lot of idioms, phrasal verbs and grammar as well, we do enough listening exercise. They try following our requirements, and they give us extra exercises, if we ask them to do this.
The class looks like a small family, we are good friends as students at the same time. I'm into learning there, and I'd like to continue the course till I'm here in Dublin, even though I've planned to take part in a one-month-long course.
My experience was utterly positive. The school is very well located. It is a small school so it is a very familiar place. The teachers make you feel as if you were at home. I love the little kitchen where you can take a relaxing cup of coffee while you are talking with other students from everywhere. Ah! The best of all is that the school provides milk, tea and coffee for your breakfast! As for classes, they are really good because teachers teach real English through funny activities and situations in which you enjoy your activities while you are learning.
I am very sorry but I can't give my opinion about housing since I arranged my own accommodation.
Anyway, I recommend Englishour. You won't regret.
The teachers are brilliant and the schedules are wide. The prices are proper. That school is situated very close to O' Connell Street so it’s very easy to get to it. However, the school offers many activities and trips to do at weekends, such as travel to Galway, The Giants Costway, etc all of them with reasonable prices.
