Our English for Academic Purposes course gives you the opportunity to develop your English language skills for use in an academic environment. It gives you excellent insight into the culture and expectations at university in an English-speaking location. Course lengths are flexible to suit your current English language level.
This course is ideal if you want to develop your vocabulary and grammar, particularly in the key academic speaking skills of discussion and presentation. It allows you to gain direct, no-IELTS entry into a range of universities, private colleges and high schools in Australia and New Zealand, or Kaplan’s Business courses.
There are two entry levels for the course: level 1 for Intermediate speakers, and level 2 for Higher Intermediate.

Our English courses in Vancouver let students take full advantage of British Columbia’s ski resorts and natural attractions by offering a busy social calendar. Our Social Team organizes frequent ski trips and weekends away in nearby national parks, as well as day trips to museums and galleries, and nights out at clubs, bars and restaurants.

Our English school in Vancouver is located in the heart of this scenic harbor city in British Columbia, close to the famous Robson Street shopping district. The downtown area of Vancouver has quick access to many local ski resorts, such as Whistler Mountain, and is close to a number of beautiful Canadian national parks.
Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying English in Vancouver. These homes are often between 25 - 50 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. Student residences are more suitable for an independent student, who is looking for clean, basic accommodation at an economic price. All students must be 18+. It is possible to live in a rented apartment during your study in Vancouver, but this tends to be more expensive. Kaplan International provides some assistance with apartment rentals or you can rent an apartment on your own. Learn more about apartment housing
We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged C$ 90 when you register.
Please note that we do not book flights for our students. If you are researching airfare costs, we recommend using Kayak.com, a search engine that lets you compare flight options from your home country to Vancouver based on your budget, schedule and preferences.
