GV Hawaii’s Cambridge TLE program is mix level course for teens from 12 to 17 years old, and combines dynamic English lessons held on school campus with optional integrated daily fun activities. Students learn about our island home’s unique culture, improve their English, and make new friends during their stay in Hawaii.
Upon arrival, our teens are welcomed into the home of one of our host families and made to feel part of their family during their stay. (optional)
Scheduled English lessons begin at 1:20 pm and end at 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. In the morning, students can join one of the exciting activities we have planned for them whether it is a day at the beach, learning the hula, hiking Diamond Head Mountain, or sailing on a Catamaran!
Saturdays normally consist of a day-long activity such as a tour around the island or spending a day at the water theme park. These activities give students a chance to interact in English with their classmates and make friends in a different environment.

I have had a good experience in Global Village.
Only I had a problem with schedule because Global Village didn’t give me a schedule in the beginning so I missed one private class.
Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying English in Honolulu. These homes are often between 20 - 90 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. Your housing starts on the Sunday before your first day of class and ends on the Saturday after your last day of class, unless otherwise noted. Learn more about homestay housing
Student residences are more suitable for an independent student, who is looking for clean, basic accommodation at an economic price. All students must be 16+. Your housing starts on the Sunday before your first day of class and ends on the Saturday after your last day of class, unless otherwise noted. Student residences often do not include any meal plan. It is possible to live in a rented apartment during your study in Honolulu, but this tends to be more expensive. Global Village Hawaii provides some assistance with apartment rentals or you can rent an apartment on your own. Learn more about apartment housing
We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
If you are studying full time in the United States for more than 18 hours per week, you will receive an I-20 that you need to submit to the US embassy along with your F-1 student visa application. The I-20 has a SEVIS tracking number on it. Students who wish to apply for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee online before going to the US embassy or consulate for their visa interview.
Your I-20 will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged $200 when you register.
Please note that United States law states that an I-20 can only be issued to students who intend to pursue full-time English language studies. United States law does not permit students to study part-time with an F-1 Student Visa. If you are studying for less than 18 hours per week, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) on your own.
Please note that we do not book flights for our students. If you are researching airfare costs, we recommend using Kayak.com, a search engine that lets you compare flight options from your home country to Honolulu based on your budget, schedule and preferences.
Study abroad worry-free with Language International's health and personal effects insurance coverage.
