Vancouver is a dazzling, modern city, nestled between lush mountains and forests and the Pacific Ocean – a truly stunning destination for anyone who wants to learn English in Canada.
Our language school is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, within walking distance of all the major attractions and transport services.
It was really fun and at the same time you get to learn lots of things. The activities in the afternoon were entertaining and allowed me to explore the city and talk to others in English more.

Show details » Read more...I really enjoyed the classes, although I did notice that throughout the months the classes would be repeated, but I think that was mostly for the season because at the end of my course most of the teachers were on holiday so the groups of b1, b2, and c1 were all combined. But other than that classes were slays interactive and all teachers had a different approach of teaching, which I really apreciare because all of them got their own special thing. The facilities were more than good, there was not a thing I didn’t like, the only thing I noticed was that for done time two of the hour washrooms were out of service, but I appreciated that they fixed them. The activities were always good, I had slays someone new to talk to and that was just lovely to practice the language. My homestay was perfect from my host mom to my roommates, I truly felt in home.

He was very open minded as well as the others. Activities were nicely choosen and the school had a great location because everything was near by.

My level was pre-intermediate.
I like everything about the school. The location is perfect, the teachers and the classes I’ve had was really nice ! The lessons are very useful, I use what I learn in my daily life in Vancouver.
I also like the fact there is not a lot of French people which is my first language so I don’t have the tentation to speak in French with the others.
Definitely great experience. Introductory session and welcome done personally by the director Kevin, who impressed me. He was perfectly clear and easygoing person, highly appreciated! Linda and Bernard were my teachers and they were truly knowledgeable, kind and understanding. I also met lots of people from different countries, with different cultures and found new friends! I also learned many things about myself that I didn’t even suspect. I know now how it feels when people say they are open-minded, I’ve been convinced to be alike too, but found out that there’s still some room to improve my mindset.
In fact, whole the team of LSI has been doing an extra mile for each of us, I’ll do my best to come over to say hello as soon as I’m back in Vancouver! A huge thank you!
My experience was too short, only 30 hours in May, Spring. However the classes was intensive, certainly to getting my best. In the morning grammarly lessons and afternoon I chose business class. The both teachers was lovely, amazing and focused. The students at the mornings classes was 10, I guess. Only girls :). Afternoon was more closely, me and maximum other 3 guys. We learned and always in Monday they applied the test. Depending on my score I would starting in a new class.
The LSI location is perfect, they're located in downtown wich have Starbucks, a lot of food stores to have lunch and dinner.
I liked the school environment. At the time was may many Korean and Brazilian students but unfortunately most of them so young and shy and it was difficult to make new friends.
The director was educated and lovely.
I had 30 lessons per week and private lessons too. I didn't like the private classes because I didn't have a purpose in them. LSI has excellent teachers, great location and good equipment. I liked the warm atmosphere and also the location of the school, the neighborhood also provides opportunities to reach cinemas, restaurants, cafes a short walk.

Show details » Read more...Classes were great because we had the ability to talk a lot but also review some grammar. Our teacher asked us what is best to work on and that was great because you could improve your skills. Linda understood every student and knew his strength and weaknesses.
Show details » Read more...I really enjoyed every experience and activity in LSI because the teacher (Barclay) was fantastic, since he was interested in listening to us students and we could see his passion for his work. All the staff in LSI was really nice, kind and helpful and I'm just looking forward to come back to Vancouver as I loved the city!
Show details » Read more...The school in general (classes, teachers, location and activities) is great and my experiences doing trips around vancouver with my friends were amazing but i need to say that my homestay family was not good at all... the breakfast and dinner were poor and awful, they didn't give me any toilet paper or towel, I never had any access to the laundry and sometimes Mrs. Fong looked like she was mad at me...
I really recomend the school but not my homestay family.
Teachers at LSI were very polite. They were really very attentive..
In January and February LSI receives lots of teenagers - in my opinion it was annoying because some of them are not worried about learning. If LSI needs to replace teacher, you would have a big problem! If you have a very nice teacher, you would have a new one who is not good so far.
The classes were so interesting, the most important thing was of course the teachers, especially Bernard and Claudio. They had a lot of knowledge and experience, especially Bernard and I appreciate that, because I went to Vancouver to learn English that wasn't a tourist trip for me, because of that my skills improved and I'm really happy with my experience in Vancouver.

I decided to stay at the YWCA hotel instead of host family because it was closer and easier every day (just a 15-minute walk).
The teachers and staff were really kind and helpful.
I only participated in the afternoon (conversation) classes for 14 days. My teacher was very good and I think he's an experienced teacher. The location was easy to access and the facilities were good enough. The activities for students were interesting but the number of places was limited, maybe more students would have liked to participate. Concerning the housing - I cannot evaluate because I've stayed with my father (he has dual citizenship and since 1968 has been living in Vancouver). I liked the attitude of the school staff to every student.

The school principal was super nice and they had excellent teachers . An excellent stay.
Classes were interesting especially business classes with teacher Ken (was really funny with him). Morning classes were interesting, too, but I found the afternoon definitely better.
Teachers were great. I mean compared to teachers I was used to in my country at most schools, the teachers were great. Could explain everything as well as tell jokes, etc. Also some of them used to tell us interesting stories in connection with different cultures.
The location was great to me since I was staying with my uncle in Vancouver Downtown on Smithe Street, so it was like 7 minutes for me to get there on foot.
Activities looked nice but since I was staying with my uncle I did most activities with him and my aunt. And so I didn't really try any of those activities even though they looked really nice.

I did not like only one thing but maybe that's just me. On the first day I couldn't find the school. I was expecting a sign or something but after 10 minutes of walking around the address I realized that I could ask somebody at the reception and they helped me.
My overall experience was amazing, my teacher, Steve, was unbelievable teaching me the English tricks that helped me when I went to the street to meet new people.
The LSI location is the best place in the city; it is in downtown near the best places in Vancouver.
The activities arranged by Holly were awesome; all students went and we enjoyed our moments together. We became good friends during these moments.
My home stay was great too; I could sleep, eat, and arrive at home whenever I wanted.
Congratulations LSI and employees. Maybe in the future I´m going to go back to Vancouver and study more.
I spent a really great time in Vancouver. The school is very well located in Vancouver. The teachers are very kind and very professional! I've made a lot of progress with LSI. I did the Cambridge Test in Vancouver. Thanks to my teacher I passed the test easily. Everything in this school is well done. The activities are diversified and fun.
My home stay family was great! I had a very good relationship with them. We watched movies together and visited Vancouver together.
I will never forget my stay in Vancouver and I will probably go back to this great city.
I enjoyed LSI Vancouver.
The location is excellent, very easy to arrive, the director Chris and also Livia are very kind persons. Kevin always had the best attitude to show us nice places at Vancouver in the Activities Program, he is very friendly.
I had 2 teachers, Sharon that put a lot of games in classroom to practice English and Ken that has the knowledge and the pedagogy to teach the language and motivate me a lot to try to improve every day. He is an excellent teacher, loves his job.
It will be very useful to find a way to improve our pronunciation. In general all of my classmates, most of them Asian, have a bad pronunciation, me too, and LSI will have a complete program if all of us, the students, could improve our pronunciation too.
I didn't request housing.
Thanks for your interest in improving LSI !!!!
Unfortunately I only stayed for 2 weeks, but right from the beginning you are part of the LSI family. At LSI Vancouver they find a very good balance between learning English and having fun.
As Chris said "Its all about communication between people!"
The choice for Vancouver as the city was for discovering the culture and enjoying the landscape and I have no regret.
That trip although quite an expensive one, is the most exciting adventure for anyone who loves nature and a wonderful experience for the one who loves people.
The school located in Downtown made it really convenient for taking a stroll in the city after the lessons. There are many restaurants and a theater nearby. Many fun events are held in summer and you just have to take the bus or seabus to find yourself in one of the many magnificent parks around Vancouver.
Also, there are so many cool activities available like biking in the Stanley park and bungee jumping .
The facilities were clean, they have an elevator and a crowded coffee corner but no room for lunch...
Overall, the warmth and kindness of the people make it the best place to practice language.
LSI is a very good school. The class dynamics are constructive and you can learn in a comfortable environment.
All the teachers had a great level, not just because they are native speakers but because they know how to teach.
LSI offers to you a bunch of extracurricular activities. You can make many friends at the same time you are learning.
This trip was awesome. I met wonderful people and I saw remarkable places. I will never ever forget this summer.
Show details » Read more...I enjoyed my stay in Vancouver a lot. The school was very nice and people there were so kind! The location was great and I could arrange my own activities. The only thing I didn't like was housing. It was like living in a hotel (I was living completely apart from the family).
Show details » Read more...LSI is a good school to learn English. Both in Toronto and Vancouver they make their best so that we can improve our English skills. The classmates, and in general all the people who is involved in make you feel comfortable, and like I say, I had not had such a great time in years. Nevertheless, there are some negative points:
1- In Toronto there were only three teachers, so there were only three levels, so people in intermediate and advanced levels (like me) were mixed together, and I think that is unfair since we all were paying to be in the correct grade, that generated that people in intermediate level felt stressed because the rhythm of the class was so fast, and people who were supposed to be at advanced level felt bored or disappointed. Because of the very few number of teachers, the number of afternoon classes was two, I wanted to take a TOEFL preparation course, but there was not any, so they just put me in a conversation class. The computers available for the students were 7, but 3 of them were broken, and the other 4 worked with Windows 2000 (ten years later), so they were so slow, and only 2 or 3 had real access to internet; even worse, by the end of January, the internet went off, so nobody at LSI had internet in my last week.
2. The HI in Toronto was great, the people were really helpful, they had lots of activities, but there were a lot of robberies, so, even if that is not the fault of the people who work there but of the guests, they should pay more attention to that.
In Vancouver the school was different, they had more computers, all of them were working, the wireless internet worked as well, the number of teachers was enough, they had a variety of options for the afternoon classes, so everybody was satisfied. Although the people who work there are not as friendly as people at LSI Toronto, they are more professional, so that is a real school. Even though in Vancouver the classes were more demanding, I had more fun there than in Toronto, and I am sure that I would have improved my English skills in a better way if I had spent the two months there rather than what I actually did.
The accomodation was very very nice, I've stayed there for six days. I've visited the school only three times, the first time we had to do a test and then there was a greeting, the next two days were fine.

Of course I not only studied English, I also learned a lot from other cultures and different lifestyles. Now, I have to visit many new friends in different parts of the world. I would like to go back to Vancouver and repeat this adventure. Moreover the city is a wonderful place.
