I followed private classes at Al Thuraya Arabic Language Center for 1 month: 3 to 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. The location is very easy to reach, and the whole team is very interested in the development of its students and helpful with any needs you have.
My teacher Lina was great; very skilled, patient and helpful. I feel like after I finished the course, I reached my before settled goal: learning and understanding the basics of the Arabic (Modern Standard) language. I will continue to follow a smaller course here during my stay in Amman, so I can go deeper into the Jordanian dialect.
I would recommend anyone who is interested in learning the Arabic language to engage with the programmes of Al Thuraya!
its our pleasure to hear that from our students , I and Al Thuraya Stuff her to guaranty that student get best Arabic Course ,
we will be happy to see you again At Al Thuraya
Thank you Caro
The teacher and the location was perfect. I had no activities and the housing was a disaster. The first day I was too tired to learn anything. Cause by the housing that was provided for me. I wanted to go back home. I called Language International School, Simone, and sent an email but no response. So I was there alone with the school leaders son (19 year old boy) and had to accept the new housing provided.
Show details » Read more...I had a very good experience with this establishment. This institution has responded to all my expectations. They had a good level of teachers and I received very good service from the team. I would like to hugely thank Dr. Moussa and his team, and I especially thank teacher Ibtisam for his patience, generosity and professionalism.
I stayed for a month and it has been very rewarding, but happened too fast. It was with regret and emotion that I had to leave this establishment.
I also recommend the hotel I stayed in.
Hello! I am very happy with the experience that I had in Al-Thuraya center. I hope I will come here again and continue to learn Arabic with this wonderful center!

Show details » Read more...I have been studying Arabic for some years, and coming to Jordan to learn and practice the language at Al Thuraya Arabic Language Center was an awesome experience for me. I started to learn Arabic here towards the end of 2014, and I am very happy with the teaching. I liked the learning materials, and as a result, I improved my Arabic a lot and also had pretty activities. I am very happy that I haven't lost my connections with this center, and now work there. Thanks all to Al Thuraya staff for this generosity and warm welcome.
Show details » Read more...I was studied at Al Thuraya Arabic Language Centre from February to May 2015. I'm satisfied with the quality of education and knowledge that they gave me. I'm also satisfied with all the activities, and I liked them very much. I realize that I've learned much at this Centre and I didn't waste my time. Thank you.

Nevertheless, I have a few remarks on the organization, which are somewhat funny/unexpected. I was not annoyed because I’ve been to many Arabic and African countries, and I know that very often, what you get is not exactly what is written on the paper you signed for. This is pretty much how I feel about my trip. I'm happy, but I feel I didn't get exactly what I signed for.
I was supposed to get a group class of 4 hours, but I was alone and got only 2h or 2h30 per day of classes.
The pedagogy was not wonderful; it basically consisted of just reading the lesson book for 2h with a teacher that was not a very good "explainer". I had to ask to get "other things" because just reading a lesson for 2h in a row is just not possible. So I asked to study songs or to have a small dialogue with the teacher. He did these, but it was easy to see that he was not very comfortable with this since they were not part of his pedagogy.
One day, he did not show up for class and it was the secretary of the school who gave me a small lesson. He was a super nice guy, but he was not a teacher of course. It was interesting, but let's be honest, when you pay more than 600 euros for lessons, you expect a little bit more than that.
Honestly, I liked it because the people were nice and it was obviously a big kickstarter for my Arabic, but I'm not sure I would do it again or recommend it to a friend... or I would tell him very cautiously what to expect really, and that it's not quite like it's written on the contract.
Such an amazing experience!
I would recommend this extraordinary place to anyone who is interested in actually LEARNING not only studying.
Everything is so perfectly organized down to the smallest details. Housing and treatment were superb. You couldn't find a better place with such amazing and talented teachers and their great methods.
I've learned a lot, became friends with so many foreign people. I will miss my days there for sure. Toma Panova.
Classes: Small classes, which helps the student to keep learning Arabic faster and better due to the efficient communication between teacher and students.
Teacher: First, I had a young lady teacher who didn't know how to interact very well with some of the students but then luckily another one came so our learning process was better.
Activities: I have been to nearly all the cities in Jordan and the most tourist places thanks to Dr. Moussa's plan. We had a good BBQ in the city of Ajloun and visited Jarash, the Dead Sea, Aqaba and Madaba.
Location: The school is located in the best area of Amman where everything can be found, like all international brand names such as Zara, Springfield, Starbucks as well as local restaurants which helps you also to improve and keep learning Arabic.
I'll definitely recommend this school to everyone one who is interested in learning Arabic in a "family" environment.
Thank you very much Dr. Mousa and all the teachers for the well-done job you did to help me learn Arabic from 0 level.
I was my first time to the Arab world I enjoyed my time in Amman with Al Thuraya. The rooms were very clean and nice and the teachers are
very patient and explain everything in a very good way. I loved my trip to Petra and Um Qias. They are very beautiful places to go. I recommend them very much. My arabic improved a lot. I am very pleased with my stay and my Arabic language now. I recommend Al Thuraya very much. It will be a very good choice and a fun experience.
I liked the trip very much. I can actually speak Arabic now (not very good but for a start it is okay). The housing was very good too; it was clean and in a very beautiful local area. The teachers are very experienced and nice; they explained anything I asked about even though I asked a lot. I really enjoyed my experience and look forward to the next summer to do it again, and I recommend the school very much.

Location of housing: Good - in a local area
Classes: There were different levels in the class. Very confusing for the teacher.
Teacher: Good - but she found it difficult to teach because of the different levels. She wanted more classes, but the manager, Dr. Mousa, would not allow it.
Activities: We were invited out to see some of the sights, but once we got there, it was all about taking pictures of us, to put on the website.
Manager: Dr. Mousa is an arrogant man. He thinks only of himself and money, which is clearly expressed in his way of dealing with teachers and students.
Good teacher I think, but there were too many different levels in the class (6 in fact, but all different levels) and not enough time ahead. This kind and able and willing lady had too many different students and too much to teach! The "Docteur Moussa" running the place was charming but fooling no one. He is not reliable in any way. There are other schools in Amman where students won't be taken as "vaches à lait" but in true consideration. I try to learn Arabic for my own special liking -- and the damage is not so important, but what about for those who need it for a job or a new direction in life? What about the money or time, they have not that much? To find out they have been spending time in a place where they could have been as any tourist, getting no more than site seeing as anyone is able to do without such a GRAND PACKING? I do not understand what you mean by facilities, activities; sure when I arrived in Amman by ten pm out of my taxi, I was proposed by Docteur Moussa's son to trip to Akaba or Petra (are THOSE the facilities you are talking about?) but this gentleman should learn more about business. Thank you any way for inquiring. I think all of you certainly very skilled but you need advice to improve and I am as an old traveling lady able to give you a few advice which might be useful any time.

The school was not professional. The teachers were not trained teachers. I had had Arabic lessons in the past, and the teacher I had there made mistakes even on basic things.
Language international had clearly never been there, knew nothing of where they were sending me or of the quality of the school. Overall, my experience was awful.
+ teacher with high level
+ small group
+ real intensive course
+ location easy to find in the center of amman, close to a major road.

- the director seems to be a quack doctor
- a friend of mine housing ensured by the school was really disappointed. Many problems of hot water, heater not solved
The teachers at the school were excellent and I learned far more than I expected during my short stay. The scheduling etc. could have been better organized though this was not a major issue. Everyone at the school was helpful and friendly and made us feel at home. The accommodation and its location was not ideal - the water was unreliable and the showers didn't work properly, although it serves its purpose in the end.
Show details » Read more...I liked the intensity of the classes--4 hours daily, and at least 3 hours of study were required for each hour of class time. Our teacher was an expert in pronunciation but was unable to explain the grammar in English so we didn't understand a lot of what we reviewed... Additionally, because the books were in Arabic only, there were no explanations verbally or otherwise so you missed out on a lot... In my situation, I spent hours translating into English so that I could properly answer the exercises. Consequently, there was no time left to actually study and memorize... The problems with the wi-fi at the student dorm severely hampered my homework time. But as I'm continuing my Arabic studies now, I'm finally learning a lot of the material that we covered at Al Thuraya.
Show details » Read more...I was extremely impressed with my teacher. She really made the course interesting. I was only there for a week but I would have loved to have been able to study with her longer. I learned so much and had the confidence to go out and speak with shop-keepers, taxi drivers and people at the hotel.
