Course description

The Academic Year Course is a highly-structured course which focuses on the development of the 4 core language skills equally (listening, speaking, reading & writing), fluency and accuracy. The course has several start dates throughout the year. Students can choose the 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42 or 48 week course.

There are 4 different streams: Language, Academic, Work and Fluency. All students take the Language Stream in the morning sessions. They can then choose from the 3 remaining streams depending on their preferred learning pathway. These streams take place in the afternoon sessions. A minimum language level of B1+ is required to join the Academic stream and a minimum of A2 for the Work stream.

Towards the end of their AYC, students can choose to transfer onto an internationally recognized
exam preparation course (IELTS/Cambridge/TOEFL iBT, TOEIC) (for more information please see exam preparation courses) provided that they have reached the language level required for exam course admission. Exam fees apply.

"Excellent and motivated teachers, good texts and support teams"

EUGENIO ROBERTSON, student from Chile

The location of the school, the study rooms and study environment, the teachers and support equipment such as texts and smart screens, excellent.
The teaching methodology and the adherence to the schedule by the teachers was very good.
The only negative criticism is that the course I took was to share with older adults and the average age of the 11 students in the course was 25 years old, but this did not cause learning problems during the 3 weeks.

"Well managed courses"

ANDRIS KABRAKS, student from Latvia

Location was perfect. The teacher was demanding and followed all the rules of COVID 19. She gave brilliant tips about places in Malta which we must to visit. I didn't use organized activities because I stayed in my family's apartment. I did it by myself. I liked everything.

"Wonderful!!!!"

Andre Luiz Gomes de Oliveira, student from Brazil

The two weeks in ESE was a single experience. I liked of everything, but the multicultural contact (colleagues of 12 countries) and the high and good level of teachers (Sofia and Adam) was especial. Really, the location, structure, facilities, team ESE, activities, are perfect. Was hard to go away (my job... lol). Next year I will return. I loved!
