Course description

Our camp is based on the broad IGCSE/GCSE curriculum and covers a wide range of Academic Subjects including; English, Applied Mathematics, Sciences, Social Studies, Humanities and Art. Students have up to 30 hours of inspiring learning per week between subject lessons, our Be a Leader programme and Elective choices. Explorers gain a real insight and excellent preparation for any GCSE, pre IB or equivalent programme. Students pick up invaluable study skills to help students in their academic careers whilst being introduced to different styles of learning. Students learn from inspiring, qualified subject teachers who have been supported by EFL teachers so they know how to teach students whose first language is not English.

We take a cross-curricular approach to make learning fun and interesting so lessons involve a mixture of theory and practical work. For example, in Science, students enjoy many opportunities to do some practical experiments in the science laboratories which brings the theory to life. Students develop their IT skills, research and study skills as well as practising how to give effective presentations.

Sports, other activities, half a day trips take place during the afternoon from Monday to Friday and at weekends there are full-day excursions to exciting cities and towns.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from AS. Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged £ 75 when you register.
