Future Learning Language School
We believe that all learners choose to study English for a purpose and our courses are designed with a sense of that purpose; personal, social, professional and academic. We also emphasise the importance of learner autonomy, and our courses invite the learner to take responsibility for their progress, help them to develop their learning skills and the ability to develop themselves.
Our adult course is divided into three stages according to English language level. At each stage, the exit criteria are those specified in the relevant Integrated Skills Exam (ISE) for ILEP purposes by Trinity College London.
All of our courses are project-based which means the students will learn English while working together and making use of technology as a basic tool of communication and support for language learning. Our course has 15 hours of project-based tuition per week (morning or afternoon).
STAGE 1: LIFE SKILLS THROUGH ENGLISH – LEVELS A2 TO B1
The initial stage of our course is designed to help people to make a life in Dublin through English and deal successfully with all the situations that will arise at work, at home and socially. It aims to help develop communication skills that consider the cultural as well as the linguistic challenges to successful communication in English.
STAGE 2: PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION – LEVELS B1 TO B2
The second stage is designed for professionals who are interested in developing their spoken and written communication skills in an international and technology-enhanced environment. The aim is to equip participants to communicate effectively in English in order to be able to progress professionally. Dublin is a hub for international technology companies that employ multinational teams to service European markets in the first language. The language of coordination and management in these companies is always English. however, in order to progress in your career, you need to be able to present yourself well and communicate effectively in that language. Effective communication is about more than just the language, it is about engagement with the culture of the company in an appropriate way.
STAGE 3: FOUNDATION FOR STUDY THROUGH ENGLISH – LEVELS B2 TO C1
The third stage is designed to equip people to make a success of studying in an English speaking country. The aim is to equip participants to communicate effectively in English in order to be able to progress academically. Effective communication is about more than just the language, it is about engaging with the educational culture in an appropriate way. It aims to help develop communication skills that consider the cultural as well as the linguistic challenges to successful studying in an English-speaking institution.

Future Learning (FL) is not a traditional language school. We are a project-based, technology-enhanced school which means that we specialise in teaching English through collaborative projects which lead to the creation of digital media products. Our unique programmes focus on developing the 21st-century skills of collaboration, creative problem solving, intercultural communication as well as the effective use of technology.
At FL we use the power of collaborative projects and technology as a tool to enable learners to explore, engage with and communicate a rich and authentic experience of the world along with its different cultures and languages. We are unique in what we do and we aim to change the way people see educational travel programmes. We want to open learners' minds about the range of skills that they need to develop so they collaborate effectively with others of all nationalities in the world that they live, work and study in.
The nationality and age mix at Future Learning Language School varies over different time periods, courses and levels. Throughout the year, the average age is 26. In the summer, the average age is 22.

Athlone, also part of Ireland’s Ancient East, and just one hour from the Wild Atlantic Way, is the perfect location for those who want to escape the big city for a truly Irish experience in this lively regional town in the heart of Ireland, while still being within easy reach of Dublin airport.
Athlone, soon to be a university town, is a historical medieval Irish town located on the beautiful River Shannon. It attracts many tourists and international students and is a busy regional centre for top businesses. Considering that the town centre is only 1.5 hours from Dublin, Galway, Limerick and Kilkenny, with excellent bus and rail
connections, it is also surprising how much more affordable the cost of living is here.
The friendly welcome will be the biggest attraction for our students who are looking for somewhere homely. We know you will be impressed with Athlone and not to mention the FL school facilities which are excellent.
Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying English in Athlone.
