Course description

The Occupational English Test (also known as OET) is the English language test for healthcare professionals. It assesses the language communication skills of healthcare professionals who wish to register and practise in an English-speaking environment.

We have focus classes for the first three weeks of the course, which means that each lesson is dedicated to a particular skill (reading, writing, listening, speaking). During these lessons, we look at strategies and techniques to help you improve your score on the exam. For the latter three weeks of the course, we practice multiple skills in each lesson and complete several past papers and mock exams - these help boost your confidence for taking the exam. You will also complete daily grammar tasks to help you refresh your grammar skills as these are very important in the exam also. Furthermore, there are several homework tasks given each week. These tasks aim to make you familiar with several different scenarios that may occur in the OET exam.

"A unique experience of study, encouragement and integrated team work"

Ahmed Remlaoui

After coming to Newcastle, I decided to study English, so I applied to the International Language Center, its great location, very close to the Newcastle center, and close to my residence, as well as near transportation, shops and restaurants. The reception was excellent, we studied two weeks for free, got to know friends from everywhere and enjoyed, and the teachers are very competent, and they use various activities to communicate information, in those days we celebrated national holidays such as the International food Day and birthdays for colleagues and teachers. We used to have meetings that helped us speak and improve our language. I loved studing and the atmosphere in school, so i went to study for additional days.
